Overview
Straight Waveguide Phase Modulator (SPM) is a waveguide-type electro-optic device fabricated on a lithium niobate substrate, utilizing the electro-optic effect. It is primarily used in straight waveguide current transformers, coherent fiber optic sensing, and other systems.
The waveguide is fabricated using the titanium indiffusion (Ti-indiffusion) process. The device supports two polarization states and is specifically optimized for dual-polarization operation through PM fiber pigtail coupling. This ensures excellent full-temperature modulation characteristics, including full-temperature differential phase measurement stability and repeatability. The device features very low phase noise, low insertion loss, low half-wave voltage, wide operating wavelength range, and wide bandwidth.
